As I went through the eBay Playstation 3 listings once again today, I noticed that the selling prices have dropped off quite sharply over the past few days. The 20GB systems are barely selling above retail, and those who have these systems priced too high using the "Buy it Now" function of eBay are watching auction after auction end without a buyer and I have to say I'm finding this pretty damn funny. And not because I think there's anything wrong with making yourself a tidy little profit. What's funny is that many of the people that still have Playstation 3 systems up for auction were the ones that initially priced their consoles at astronomical prices. You know the ones that were asking $5000+ for a system near launch day. These are the very people that have now missed the window of making $400 or $500 dollars profit because they got too damn greedy. My philosophy is that anything that's priced at more than twice what it retails for, is way overpriced and many of these people are finding out that sometimes when you get greedy, it comes back to bite you in the ass. Maybe that's why I'm enjoying visiting eBay each night to see how much lower the prices are going and how many of these desperate people are still trying to get too much bang for their Playstation 3 buck. Maybe the next time they find themselves sitting out in the cold for 20 hours they'll think about that.
