My Gaming Rig.....

It's been a long time coming, but I finally got my digital Cybershot camera back from the repair shop today so I finally snapped a pic of my new gaming rig. This setup is for the next-gen systems: Xbox 360, Wii, and PS3. I have the Wii and PS3 preordered and should have them both by Sunday. I'll snap a new pic then. The LCD HDTV is a Samsung white 40" model LN-S4052D. It's a beauty. I also got the Xbox 360 HD-DVD player the other day and King Kong looks wicked in HD. The Dolby 5.1 speaker system is a Logitech Z-5500 and let me tell you, worth every penny. I watched The Empire Strikes Back the other night and I swear during the snow speeder scene it sounded like a 747 buzzed my house. The component/Dolby 5.1 switcher is a Zektor and is also worth every cent of the $250 it cost me. No video or audio signal loss at all. If you have any questions, feel free to ask away.

very nice! yeah want to see pics of your upto date ds & psp collection

I want your opinion on something. I'll be getting a Wii this Sunday (hopefully), and I have two options as to where to place it. I can either have it on a 55" big screen(non-HD) with surround sound, or a 42" with HD but just stereo sound. Which do you suggest? Is the HD good enough to make me want to hook up the console on that TV? Thanks.

It's a tough call. 480p is a lot better than 480i on a standard TV set. The only thing that I can tell you is the Wii doesn't support Dobly surround sound anyway, so you won't be missing much with that, but you will be missing out not getting the 480p of the HDTV. I'd go with the HDTV myself.

I meant to say, the Wii doesn't support true Dolby digital surround sound like the PS3 and Xbox 360. It's Pro-Logic II which is basically "simulated" surround sound. : )

aren't you afraid that shelf could fall right on your TV?

ps POST PICS OF YOUR TURBO DUO COLLECTION.

Well not until NOW!!! Thanks. : )

sorry, part of my engineer training to immediately spot potential problems. I see your hori compact pouch... same as mine ;)

Also don't forget to get new carpet, i'm an interior designer :P

We just had this carpet put in about a month ago. Although I wasn't a fan of the color, my wife liked it. And if she's happy, I'm happy. : )
